Our Past Events

  • Tactical in Tech

Through a partnership with UTBA, we presented an event for those passionate about business, technology, or engineering: Tactical in Tech. This provided the opportunity to build meaningful connections with peers and representatives from firms like IBM and Accenture. The event had a panel discussion and a networking session to help students better understand the intersectionality between technology and consulting.

  • Reading Week Workshops

Workshop #1: Introduction to Consulting Recruitment - This workshop showed the consulting recruitment timeline and tips for resumes and cover letters, with a general Q&A and an optional 1-1 resume help session.

Workshop #2: Cracking the Case Interview - To establish a foundation of students’ skills and prepare them for consulting interviews, this workshop explained topics such as key consulting frameworks, charts, and case-solving strategies.

  • Expand Your Horizons

To help students learn about the niches of consulting and what the industry is like, we partnered with leading boutique firms to host an interactive panel-breakout room networking session. These firms included ZS, Level5 Strategy, Accuracy, and Alpha FMC, and they answered questions on recruitment timelines, interview preparation, and the wonders of each firm’s areas of expertise!

  • University of Toronto Consulting Conference

The annual UTCC has been and continues to be the largest consulting case competition at the University of Toronto. In addition to presenting a case solution, all attendees in previous editions found out more about consulting through networking and participating in workshops and panel discussions hosted by industry professionals.

  • Mock Interview Program

This year, our mock interview program connected students, especially those in their penultimate or final years, as partners or group members. Through these connections, students did mock interviews together and networked with those seeking a full-time or internship position in consulting.

  • Ace the Case

Ace the Case was another event to help students looking for a way to practice for their upcoming case interviews. The event involved the global management consulting firm, ZS, which guided students through a signature case and provided tips on how to impress interviewers. This was a one-stop-shop to prepare for the consulting recruitment season!

  • Consulting 101

Geared more towards first and second-year students, Consulting 101 tends to be our first major event of the year. The event’s goal has been to shed light on what members of the UTCA do and what consulting is through a fun and interactive way.

  • Alpha FMC Case Competition

The Alpha FMC x Rainforest Trust’s Case Competition was aimed towards problem-solving for a real-world critical non-profit, with the aim of protecting our climate and wildlife through mentoring teams of talented students.

  • Summer Firm Series

While the summers may not involve many in-person campus events, we organize information and networking sessions with different firms during this time. In our latest edition, firms like Accenture, Oliver Wyman, IBM, and KMPG educated students about the recruitment timeline, corporate life and culture, interview preparation, and much more!
